How to get to Granada

Rich in history and culture, Granada is one of the most worthwhile cities in Spain for a tourist to visit.  Located in the Andalucia region of Southern Spain, you can reach the city of Granada in a number of ways.  Plan ahead and reserve a car hire in Granada for your ground transportation once you arrive to the city.

Airport Rental Car

Granada Airport is just 12 kilometers from the city, and takes only half an hour with normal traffic.  Here you can get flights daily from Madrid, budget flights to and from London, Girona, Frankfurt, and Milano airports by Ryanair, and flights from Barcelona, Rome, and Paris as well.  Arrange for your rental car in Granada to await your arrival at Granada Airport.

If Granada is just one of a few different cities you have the opportunity to visit while in Spain you can take a train or a bus to get there.  Three trains run each day on the picturesque line to Algeciras via Antequeras and Ronda.  Trains are also available to Cordoba, Malaga, Almeria, and Sevilla.  You can request your Granada car hire to meet you at the train station as easily as the airport.

Granada Train Station

Regular busses run from Seville and Malaga as well as some to Cordoba and a few to Algeciras.  Malaga runs several bus times and offers good prices.  The bus station is about 2 miles from the city centre.  It is important when choosing between train and bus transport to consider price and time of travel, because while busses are often cheaper they can take quite a bit longer.
